Q: How can I
become a member?
A: There are
two types of memberships in the FOF: ACTIVE and ASSOCIATE MEMBERS.
ACTIVE MEMBERS: An active member of
the lodge must be a regular full-time firefighter
engaged in regular firefighting for a municipality, city, town,
county, state or federal agency from which he or she receives
compensation. Active members are allowed to vote in the proceedings of
the Lodge, receives a $7500 life insurance policy, and a key to the
Lodge to use at any time. Active membership is $15.00 a month.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: Associate
Members shall be members of the community who are interested in the
general welfare of professional firefighters through the efforts of the
Fraternal Order of Firefighters and the advancement and efficiency of
professional firefighting. must be a law-abiding citizen, a proponent
of law and order and shall not have been convicted of a felony.
Associate members are not allowed to vote in the proceedings of the
Lodge, and neither receives insurance or a key to the lodge, but is
welcome at the lodge anytime a active member is present at the lodge and
is invited to attend any FOF function. Associate membership is
$100.00 a year.
